🏏 Fatima’s Letter from Khari Sharif
As our schools begin their summer holidays, we wanted to share a small glimpse of the children behind the work you make possible. Although regular classes have now paused for the break and will restart at the end of August, the summer period remains an important time for our students, with many continuing to attend morning summer camps. It also gives us a chance to reflect on the progress they are making, not only in their studies, but in confidence, character and self-expression too.
Below is a short piece written by Fatima Noor from our Khari Sharif school about her favourite game, cricket. Her writing reflects both her enthusiasm for sport and the importance of play, friendship and healthy activity in children’s lives.
We hope you enjoy reading Fatima’s letter, and thank you, as always, for helping to give children like her the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
My Favourite Game
My favourite game is cricket. Cricket is a popular game in Pakistan and has many benefits. It unites nations and helps to keep people healthy. We should give importance to games in our lives along with our other work.
In today’s modern era, children play very little cricket, because of which they may suffer from many diseases. A person can become lazy if they do not play games. While playing, we should take care of our teammates so that they do not get any physical injuries.
We should always play honestly. If we lose, we should not be sad, because winning and losing are both part of the game. I like cricket very much. I often play cricket with my friends and I also enjoy watching it with great interest. When I go to my uncle’s house during the holidays, there is a small garden where we all play cricket together.
Cricket is a famous game all over the world. It is an interesting and useful game.
