End of Year News Round Up

We hope that you are well and ready to enjoy the holidays. Here is a round up of Superhands recent news.

Exams

All schools are currently holding end of term exams. This is an important opportunity to assess our students’ progress so far. Once the exams are concluded, the schools will close for the winter break.

AIS Islamgarh School Trip

Students of AISI recently enjoyed a trip to Rohtas Fort. The staff told the students the history of the fort and the students were able to fully explore it. On the return from Rohtas Fort, the students visited Asifa Bhutto Park before stopping for lunch. They then went on to Jarikas Park where they played on the swings to finish off the day. The trip was kindly funded by Mr Raja Shafaq and we thank him for his generosity.

Annual Function

Annual functions were held at AIS Dina and AIS Islamgarh to celebrate Iqbal day. Some students made speeches and gave performances in Urdu, Arabic and English. Prizes were given to the highest achievers.

Students have reported that they are enjoying their new facilities including libraries, computer labs, science labs and outdoor space for recreation.

Salary Increases

All staff will be receiving wage increases from the start of the new financial year in April. We have reviewed the staff pay structure in view of the increased cost of living.

In the meantime all staff have received an additional allowance of Rs1000 in November and will again in January.

Child Sponsorship

We have increased the cost of sponsoring a child to £30 per month. After 10 years we have had to review the amount due to the increased cost of living.

Sponsorship is still great value for money and covers the full cost of a child’s education including all learning materials, uniforms and a daily cooked meal.

You can still continue at the old rate of £25 per month, but if you are paying by direct debit and would like to increase to the new rate, please contact us at: info@superhandscharity.org
