All schools in Pakistan have been intructed by the government to close as a precaution against the spread of Covid-19. The closure was first announced on 23rd of March for an initial 21 days subject to review. The proposed date for reopening has since been extended to 1st of June, the time in the interim will be treated as summer holidays. When the schools reopen the government’s decision is that they will operate from 7am until 11am from 1st June until 13th August. After this date normal school hours will resume.
The situation continues to develop from day to day as more is learned about the virus, and as such the proposed schedule for reopening of schools could yet change.
