“In Superhands schools every needy person can study…they are serving our community.”
Nazish Nasreen, Teacher, AIS School, Dina
Thank you for supporting Superhands. It is thanks to your contributions that nearly 400 children are now studying and pursuing their dreams of a brighter future at our four schools in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. We are sending you this email to keep you up to date with our latest news.
Ramadan Campaign
This year’s Ramadan Campaign has been a fruitful one and we are deeply thankful to all those who have contributed or pledged their support. Our total raised was over £25,000. We have received some particularly generous donations, for amounts of £2,000, two donations of £3,000 and £5,000.
We thought we would share the touching letter that we received from one of our supporters last week:
Leave a legacy that lasts longer than a lifetime
“It is the duty of a Muslim who has anything to bequest not to let two nights pass without writing a will about it.”
Prophet Muhammad SAW
Choosing to include Superhands Charity in your will ensures your good deeds continue to yield benefits even after your passing, and a possible financial benefit to your heirs as it is tax efficient. A gift of any value helps transform children’s lives through education for years to come.
If you are considering leaving a gift in your will, there are resources online to help offer guidance in planning https://www.rememberacharity.org.uk/. Legacy giving is a powerful way of supporting Superhands’ work to make a difference that will outlast more than one lifetime.
What our students say
“When I grow up I want to be a superintendent of police because I want to do something special for my people and my country.”
Yasir, Class 6 student
We have been asking our students to tell us about what they like best about school, and their hopes for the future. To hear more from the students themselves, and see what a typical schoolday is like at a Superhands school, have a look at our video:
Library Appeal
Our students are eager to extend their learning, and coming from the poorest backgrounds, most will have no access to books at home. A school library would help foster their love of reading and independent study, building a foundation for future academic success. “There should be a small library with story books, reference books and Islamic books,” Bilal, a Class 5 student, told us. We’d love to make this dream a reality for our students, so we are launching an appeal to start a library at each of our four schools. Our goal is to provide one hundred books per school by the end of the year. If you’d like to make a donation, please go to our Just Giving page.
Sincere thanks for your ongoing support.
